Unhappy No Results Yet!! Help!!

Hi, I am new to this board and to SEO in general. I noticed you were helpful on the boards so I thought I'd ask for some advice, although anyone with knowledge is free to help me out.

I have recently submitted our site at http://4womenoftheworld.com to Google, and the Paid Inclusion services at I need Hits, Insite, Ah-ha and Yahoo.

Despite being included in the directories of these engines, I have ZERO rankings for my keywords. I positioned the site to the best of my knowledge to rank high for keywords "Brazilian Girls" and "Rio de Janeiro" among others.

I paid special attention to my Titles, Meta Keywords, Meta Description, keyword-rich content (within reason, no spam), and alt tags yet no rankings at all. Not even poor rankings, I mean NO RANKINGS! I am finding sites out there called "Untitled Web Site" with the keyword Brazilian Girls mentioned somewhere in the doc ranking somewhere, yet I am nowhere!! Anyone have any idea is this is normal for a new site?

The search results for these keywords are far less relevant to the keywords than my site, so I can't figure out what is wrong. I just completed the Pay for inclusion services a few days ago so perhaps these things take several weeks or months to rank my site appropriately?

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone would look at my site, type in Brazilian Girls or Rio de Janeiro into any search engine and witness that we do NOT appear anywhere in the results. Please look at my site and tell me if you see anything obviously wrong.

Thanks again. I appreciate all the help I have received on this board.

Kindest Regards,

Dan

I think there are at least 4 pages indexed in Google.

There could be a problem with the sessionid tacked on to all the anchors in the html, the spider may not follow these pages.

Also, You need incoming links from other sites.

There is alot of competition for Brazilian Girls Rio... and the rules of the game have changed with Googles new algorithm.

Feel free to read through the posts.

thanks mary

Thanks Mary. Yes I am working now to get incoming links. I think I will use our affiliate program to do this, especially since everyone is saying that reciprical linking is being penalized now.

The shopping cart is being changed so that we don't need a unique session id generated for each visit. This prohibits the engine from the entire site.

So with these changes, and time, hopefully things work out. I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything for certain about my situation.

Thanks Again.

I agree. Why would it be penalized? So, I like your site, and I place a link to it from my website. You like my site, and you place a link to my site on yours. What's the problem? Why would this be penalized? It's just the same myth as the "just link to related websites".

You did pick some very difficult keywords. You'll need all the links you can get, and remember to include your keywords in them.

Proper reciprocal linkings will never be penalized. They're like business partners in cyber world.

Getting it right!

Also, I seem to get no rankings on Alexa when I make a slight change to even the title of the home page. Other days the rankings are fair. Can someone help me out here? I'm a bit confused and would appreciate the help!

Willing to trade services! Please help me figure this one out! You guys are great!

I don't think it is realistic to try to place well for "web designer".

I am using this tool and I don't know if it is perfect, but it at least gives you some indication of how easy/hard it will be to place for a search term.

http://www.iblcheck.com

For Web Designer ... it shows you will need 1,332 PR4+ backlinks to be in the top 10 of Google. Not very encouraging. You may want to go for "bay area web design firm" ... still needs 370 PR4+ backlinks ... still quite a tough road but possible over time.

Good luck!

This site provides an estimate of PR4+ backlinks required to compete for a top 10 spot for your chosen keywords:

whats more important to understand is that nobody who has even a slight clue about what they are looking for will do a search for just web designer.
therefore...the reason to add a location or other 'more descriptive' words to your targeted keyphrase of web designer has more to do with logic than the shear competitiveness of the phrase.
