Need advice on top 10 positions PLEASE?!
hey guys,
I currently own a ringtones site, which I've had for just under 2 years. I however can't seem to get that all important top 10 for key phrases like "ringtones" "nokia ringtones" "ring tones" and a few others. I'm on page 3 on google for ringtones but would so like a top 10. I have a little experience with google.com and have a pr of 5. Can someone give me suggestions on what to do, I think I'm lacking page content?! The site is http://www.cell-phone-ringtones.co.uk Cheers Sam |

Here's a few tips to boost your rankings:
1. reduce your meta keywords to 30 or less including only your targetted ones. Google only pays a bit of attention to metas but still - every little bit helps 2. Add some headers to your pages with your keywords in them 3. Place your keywords in your text links between pages. 4. Drop that text header at the top. While it's OK for search engines you do still want to be attractive to your visitors. Perhaps beef up your alt tag on the header image to make up for this. 5. Lose the link farm you got at the bottom of the page. If need be create a "links" page but certainly don't do this on your index page (yikes). Best of luck. Make these changes in the next couple days and you might get your "new site" in the new update at the end of the month. Cheers, |

Keep the DOC size into consideration too - at 22K it's a bit high for my liking!!

why submit
Don't bother submitting ... you're already indexed.
Googlebot will figure out that you've changed by itself. Cheers. |

Hi Guys,
This is my first post here - and my first visit to a SE forum! Hard to believe since I've been a webmistress for 2 yrs now. I'm gonna add my 2 cents here. I see a big problem with this section at the bottom of your page - Quote:
Everyone of those "links" goes to the same page, which is the page you're on to start with. PS - Do we not use sig links at this forum? |

slimboy - your tips are fantastic.
I've never ever found such a good listing like yours. I just printed your listing, because it's really good! I hope my sides will boost.... :-) Innuendo |

re: sig links
you can have a link in your sig, but no large .gif, .jpg, flash, ect. attachments, it slows down the loading time and will clutter things up, as well as taking up space on the servers

I noticed that you have a graphics bar at the very top of your page. Why don't you put the text ringtones in large text over the
top of your page where your graphics bar is. www.awesome-pc.com/WEBDESIGN Miles Takiguchi |
