Question Is web promotion of business really effective?

Hey everyone. I just got into textile business. Now I want to market it online. But I am a little unsure. One of my friends had tried promoting his business through internet. But all in vain. He never got any results from it. His website never managed to get good rankings on search engines. No conversions, no buyers, no sales, no money, no business, no value for money, nothing at all. I might be sounding quite a pessimist. But what do I do? I want to market my business on internet as its booming nowadays, but my friend’s experience has kind of put me off it!
Is web promotion of business really effective? Would it give a boost to my business?

Steve

Most websites make money for two people... the designer and the hosting company.

Successful websites are based on a good business model first (marketing that will succeed on the web), then you need a site that is authored, designed and optimized to compete for appropriate search terms. Finally you will need enough links from other websites to be competitive in your niche. If you fail in any one of these you make no money. Most sites make no money.

So, before you have a site built you need to get an SEO to consult with you about your goals and then recommend site structure, authorship and a linkage source to allow success.

Lots of people think that they can have a website take first page of google rankings for "hiking boots" or some other term simply because they put it on the web. For a term like that you will need a highly optimized site, well authored, properly structured... plus a lot of links from other important sites that are related to hiking, boots, or related topics. This is not cheaply done or quickly done for a query that is competitive.

A site to compete for that term will cost thousands of dollars in SEO alone.

People often think that all they need to do is build a website and they are ready to make money on the internet. Obviously, this is entirely wrong. What people often forget is the optimization part of it. If you build a store down a dead end street, how do you expect people to find your store? If you don't put up any signs (optimization) telling people that your store is down this street, you'll never have anyone walk into your store. Same theory applies for a website. If you don't do any optimization, your site will just fall into the pile with the bazillion and two other websites out there that go unnoticed all the time.

Optimization takes time and lots of effort along with patience. Website owners fail to think of the long term and don't often realize that you have to spend money to make money. Once they realize this, they need to realize that it doesn't happen over night and they are likely not going to rank for whatever keywords they want by tomorrow.

The fact that internet is widely used today generally makes sense that it's a good place to promote your business. It's easy, affordable and easy to reach. The main thing is, you must know how to make it visible and how you'll get customers. Optimization and promotion are the requirements to have a successful website / online business.

I think, If you understand the importance of seo, then you know how seo directly affect your business...

Its simple,, when people search for your products or services and they found your website in top pages then definately they contact you and ask for quote.

more visitors, more chance of getting inquiries.

seo is the must step for business..

Nowadays all the business are approximately online but no all of them make or earn money as the situation is based on the traffic and SERP means your ranking on the search engines for any particular keyword.

Therefore, it's necessary to consult a seo expert for analyzing the site before or after the site has been developed. The main work for your business income begins through the seo's as they will get the ranking and online visibility to your business through the site.

Seo Expert will help you in getting your site rank at SERP's which will get traffic for your site and this traffic will only convert into the inquires and customer's means business. For which all the work has been done as to utilize your online business for which every one builds website.

Therefore hiring expert seo will start you getting soon and you can also do it yourself if you have that much of time as this process is ongoing and takes time to get and show the performance of the work done.
