Word Order Issue
How important is the word order in the title, meta tags and content ?
Imagine I would manage a domain named www.istanbulattractions.com and main product of my customer are city tours. Is it better to give title to the domain: Istanbul City Tours and Attractions or Istanbul Attractions and City Tours or just Istanbul City Tours ? The meta tags are not that important from SEO point of view, but they should take in consideration what will the customer like. Is it so ? Links to my site should be named in the same way like titile ? I suppose what concerns keywords frequency in content I should aim to have Istanbul City Tours around 5-7 %. Thanks for you thoughts. Update
I am sure my question is not that interesting as it is standard here, anyhow I would very much appreciate at least few words. Thanks. Xaver |

Xaver - I think most just don't know the EXACT answer...
It really depends on what people are looking for, combined with the way the search engines value on-page keywords. In a title, less words are better (the most important keywords), but you don't want to miss out on the other keywords. Possible solution would be to optimise one of your pages for City Tours, and another for Attractions, and have them interlink with easy to find links. And yes: links to your site should have your title or a similar phrase as anchor text for max. effect. Kw freq. is prob ok. No-one knows. Higher densities are known to help you on Yahoo etc. but could set off an alarm at Google's. ;) |

This is true as long as your target keyword(s) are contained within the anchor test used. |

Xaver,
Find out what searchers search for most, then put everything in that order...title, meta tags, anchor text, page text, etc. |

you can make use of Wordtracker or Overture for searching keywords which are having a high frequency while searching. i prefer You really need more reading regarding this so its better to spend two three hours a day for learning...that won't make you in sad... |

In my experience of running a tourist information website for Wimbledon, London, I find that most searchers look for one thing at a time. So either tours or attractions but in most cases not both. I would perhaps also introduce Istanbul Tours and Tours Istanbul into the equation.
Istanbul City Tours and Attractions 86,100 Results in Google.Com Istanbul Attractions and City Tours 86,700 Istanbul City Tours 526,000 Istanbul Tours 776,000 The more results, the more difficult it is to come high. If you have enough pages I would go for 4 pages with page titles of Istanbul City Tours Istanbul Attractions Istanbul Tours Tours Istanbul As there is a lot of competition you must ensure that phrases come up several times in the text as then you have the greatest chance of a higher ranking because your page title actually matches the word order on your page. Tours Istanbul may be more difficult because it will not make good word order in your body text so that might be more challenging. Mark-up the phrases with h1 to h3 tags in the HTML as this should increase your chances. |

Just noticed your second question. I get significantly more hits for hotels wimbledon than for travel wimbledon and both come on Google's first page.
