Why is a page, similar to other ranking pages on the same site, not ranking?

Hi. I have an article at my site, bonfx.com:

    'bonfx.com/fonts-that-go-with-futura/'

It is nearly identical to an article:

    'bonfx.com/fonts-that-go-with-century-gothic/'

They were both published in the last week or so. When you search for "what fonts go with futura", the article is no where to be found. However, another article at my site is listed in the top 2 or 3, "19 top fonts...". So, my article that is not optimized for the search ranks near the top, but my new article which is, according to Wordpress SEO, green-light optimized, does not rank...at all. In fact, I can't find it ranking on Bing, etc.

The Century Gothic article (second links from above), ranked almost immediately. My site always ranks font articles quickly, and highly.

I've been running the site for 5 years, and all my font articles place highly, almost immediately.

What could cause this ONE article out of 130 on the site, to kind of go into a black hole? It's making me think there is Wordpress problem or some other weird glitch.

I don't know where to look next, so I was hoping to get some sage advice as to what could possibly be wrong, and how to quantify what any on page SEO errors might contribute to it.

My best guess would be that google didn't spider it when it was on your home page. Try changing the date so it appears on your home page.

The article is actually still on the homepage.

    Interesting question!

To keep this one from getting lost in the shuffle, I've moved it to our Search Engine Optimization section so that it will stay visible for a little longer.

I had the same problem with one of my blog post, it might be due to the target keyword you want to rank for. It might be more competitive then your rest ones.

Login to Webmaster Tools (or Search Console as it is now known) and use the 'Fetch As Google' tool. This will send Googlebot to that page to index it. The tool is under 'Crawl > Fetch As Google. Type in ' fonts-that-go-with-century-gothic/ ' , click Fetch and then 'Submit To Index'.. see if that helps. Keep us all updatedČ!
