    Question Why doesnít Googlebot render the content?

    Hello everyone,

    Iím auditing an e-commerce website but Iím having really difficult time figuring out why Googlebot canít render the pages correctly. When I check the cache of the pages i see that googlebot couldnít render much of the content.

    A url for instance:giamor.com/kadin-deri-ceket-35

    I have an opinion about what might be the issue but Iím not sure:
    The url has escaped fragment version (in this case the ugly url is https://www.giamor.com/kadin-deri-ce...ed_fragment_=& ) but googlebot doesnít request it because original url doesnít contain a #! hash fragment or meta tag
    Code:
    <meta name="fragment" content="!">
    Or maybe it might be due to robots.txt has a line which disallows /Handlers/ (I donít know what it is).

    I would really appreciate any help.
    Thanks in advance.

    I am sure about the problem but the screenshots show two different web pages. The web page user see is different and the webpage bots see is totally different. It seems cloaking but I am not sure about it.

    Disabled Javascript and your page doesn't load at all. Pretty sure Google is struggling to find the images due to your Javascript.
    As little Javascript as possible is the best way forward. Search engines have always struggled to render JS, although there have been improvements, it's certainly not reliable.

    Why don't you ask Google to tell you what is wrong with your page. Run your page thru Google Mobile Friendly Test.

    I ran your page thur the test and found some interesting things....click the image and it will take you to the test.

    Fix the issues on your page and your problems will go away.
    (It could be how you provide the image zoom effect that is the problem)

    Yep, thought so. Follow what KOS has suggested and all will be good.

    I've never understood why people use Angular JS on a website which needs to be crawled.

    Matt1966, why do you think AngularJS is the problem here? Isn't javascript the main issue? Which JS framework would you recommend?
    Do you have any idea why googlebot can't read the contents of the web page like images even though the pages have escaped fragment versions?

    See here: Google's cached version of your page: https://webcache.googleusercontent.c...&ct=clnk&gl=uk

    They aren't seeing an awful lot of your page. I won't lie, I only know basic JS. I only really use jQuery framework. All I know is, whenever I see rendering issues it's normally angular JS, I don't know why though.

    I'm sure if you configure it properly, Google will be able to render it as Angular JS is quite popular, if Google couldn't render it point blank it simply wouldn't be used.

    Perhaps looking to something like this? https://scotch.io/tutorials/angularj...h-prerender-io, I know little about Angular JS, so I'm sorry I haven't been much help.

    Edit:

    This is why JS isn't SEO's best friend

    I am not an avid practitioner of Anguar Js for a few reasons, I do use it on occasion, but the most important reason is you have to learn a whole new set of rules. There are known issues with Angular, but there is good news, there is a solution.

    Rule #1 when dealing with Angular Js sites, anything that requires input from the mouse, a click, on hover, (like your Zoom feature), I mean anything that needs some sort of input from a visitor will be an issue period !
    The below snippet is linked to the site it is from a good read.

    Here is another link for more information on how to make Angular work, an experiment actually.

    https://www.elephate.com/blog/javasc...eo-experiment/

    Both good reads for you.

    Now go fix your Angular site and let us know how it goes.

    Thumbs up

    @matt1966, @KnowOneSpecial
    These were very valuable piece of informations. Thank you so much both of you.
    This is not my own site, it belongs to a client of mine. I give instructions and the developers execute. Now that i see my way clearer i can be more specific as to what must be done.

    Thank you again for your invaluable help.
