White Hat Mistery
Hi Guys,
Huge respect for all attempting to discuss here and a big question to SEO gurus: Let's suppose the clean code and linking brings a better PR and placement under the Google sun HOW & WHY most valued by Google and Alexa pages get away with utmost black magic? 1. if you check them with seo tools to produce reports they get "c" and "d" 2. if you trying to view those as googlebot it returns Invalid URL or server does not respond, HTTP return code: 403 3. they full of flash and images, without even attempt to content 4. they use white on white text in between pages and they are not sand boxed 5. they create the myth of traffic by directing and redirecting url's 6. their links from outside are not by the White Hat normally recommended techniques, but rather a bunch of nonsence, no value equals of .0000001 7. how arbitrary is Search Engine's or bot's pick and choose for the content relevancy? ![]() |

Without the url's to the pages we have no idea of what you are rambling about. Do pages that violate search engines TOS' do well? Yes... but not over the long term.
I think you just wanted to vent your frustration. OK.. vent... then get back to work.

Not sure what you're driving at and where you're going with this... please re-phrase in simple terms... it would be best to ask 1 question and leave the metaphors & cliches out.

But we can't help if we can't determine what the real question is.

OK. Let's look together at the few pages with high PR all from the same entity: see the intuit dot com see the homestead dot com-- -- look at the text loading during the delay when you switch between the internal pages??!@#? 3. see the mycorporation dot com -- - try to see google view....? How you can explain the ranking? no blogs, no talks, some content, few links? |

With intuit and homestead and mycorporation it's about being viral... they each offer something for free that is in great demand... two with free websites and the other free advice to setup a company... and places that aggregate large volume memberships of people that need/want free web sites, free web design tools and free company setup point links towards places that offer that... like the ones you quoted.
It's all about links... all about who is voting for your website. |

Right! Given "Free" is in demand. Viral works. My question is why the "high rank", if they are self enclosed in their own closet? How and why search engine ranks them high? Based on what? Which bot (that didn't even read their pages) makes the decision to rank them high? |

Intuit is a MASSIVE company (Fortune 500 IRC). I see 2,700 'Google links' which means they actually have tens or hundreds of thousands of links (over 300k according to Yahoo, and those are not link farms). They are by no means: Quote:
There certainly is nothing arbitrary about them having high SERPs. If Google put them beneath bobs tax service it would not serve users. Viewing the source code certainly does not result in errors as you suggest it does. And the on page factors can be less than optimal and still archive top ranking if the off page factors are good enough. As for Alexia, you do have some idea how Alexia works right? |
