Which is the Best Technique for Old URLS in Google ?

Hi Webmasters

We've finished Static URL rewriting for our main site and Now We've got More than 300 Old Urls (like Asp and html pages) and which are coming in Search engines.

first website launched in Asp language and after that Redirection was done in Html pages and Now Final Redirection is finished with some changes in html.

so please Advise, Which Whould be the best way to remove these Urls From google.

1) Robots.txt
2) 301 Redirection in index page
3) Remove from google webmaster account.
or any thing else ?

A 301 Redirect to the relevant page (not just the index page).

You can do conditional rewrites if you have lots of rewrites that fit a pattern.

It is worth putting the effort into the 301 redirect otherwise you lose all previous bennefit.

The weight of your old pages will be carried to the new pages which means they will not be starting from scratch.
