Whats better - many landing pages or subdomains

Whats better - many landing pages or subdomains?

the choice is to have one many site and other sites attached it example a.com. a2008.com, a2009.com a2010.com

or would it be better to subdomain

which has more SEO value?

Well this depends a lot on what you hope to achieve.

If you are targetting the same theme or similar keyword range it makes sense to stick with one domain.

Also I am not sure what you hope to achieve from sub domains. Again it depends what you want but it may make sense for you to target 2008 / 2009 related terms to a sub directory ratehr than a sub domain - especially if they are on a related subject.

Be a bit more specific .......

Sub-domains are currently treated as entirely different sites, so there's no difference. I agree with tstolber about using sub-directories to organize the content over sub-domains.

Subdomains Are Treated As Different Sites ?

I didnt know this

So, if I am trying to maximize the potential of a single domain - then is it suggested I not use subdomains - blog.police.com ; forum.police.com; directory.police.com ; etc. etc .

Yes thats right if its on topic then use sub directories.

If its not the use subdomains.

If you can group topics all under one site much better. You have less resources to manage and will enable you to control SEO projects easily than having more sites.
