The main reason is the ROI from the web as an advertising medium. If money is spent on print or other traditional forms of marketing its pay once a get one exposure. With an effective SEO campaign the benefits can be gained for years. Every single time someone searches for your keyword in your market.

To me the thing I struggle to understand is why so many businesses do not take SEO seriously. Or think SEOs are expensive. Whatever figure I put on the collective cost of my website (including my time valued at market rates) the ROI I have received is so much more.

Therefore to answer your question. What are the SEO benefits for businessman? I would say - Customers!

To get good online business there are two way.. free search enging marketing & Paid Advertise.
to seo you should pay onle one time but for paid advertise you wil pay every every time....
so total cost will be more then seo & more then profite
