What am I doing wrong?

Hi Everyone.

This is my first post but I have been a lurker for many months and I do not consider myself a programmer but more or less a tweaker.

I do have an e-comm site www.3d-magic.ca which was programmed by another company for me and it is hard to get changes done. In my wisdom I thought if I built another site, which as a base will be an affilliate site I could use it to drive traffic to my e-comm site. I have tried to do many of the things I have read in this forum but no matter what I do, I am still a PR 0. The affiliate site I built is www.a1-printer-ink.com I know I do have at least 4 links to my site with a PR of 4 but they still do not show up (over 1.5 months).

Can anyone give me any advise on what I could do to get a better PR?

Lino

2 ways - begin a link campaign by approaching webmasters and requesting links either one way or reciprocal or buy it

Thanks,

I think for the most part I am not patient as I have been working at this since July. Besides the linking campaing which I have now started to do is there any tips on the actual site which would help.

Actually I should get a link from 3D-magic to A1 done but it will take time as the company that created 3D for me is having many technical problems with the site.

Once again thanks for your time.

Quick question. What type of programming language are you using for your site because the source is horrible. Too much white space and you have to scroll almost 20 pages until you come to the code itself. You should fix that up.

Program Language

Hi PK,

I did the A1 site using front page.

The 3d-magic site was done by another company. They are related to my wife and they have done the programming for free and the hosting for free so I am limited to what I can and cannot say to them. It was for this reason that I started the A1 site.

I have no idea how they did the programming but their company does do many sites for very large comapnies in Canada. Most of their sites do get PRs of 5 - 7 and if you look at the source you see tons of white space. They are also very active in getting links.

I have however got them to agree to put a links section onto the site and this will allow me to start searching for link sites.

Make sure you put up a sitemap aswell.

Large companies usually never have to worry about the code because they have a huge advertising budget plus word of mouth advertising. For us little guys its the other way around.

Thanks PK,

I am learning all about being the small guy. The site map will wait till my next round of things to be done to the site.

A sitemap will help get all your pages indexed and get all pages within 2 clicks of the index. Therefore your deeper pages will receive better PR. Very important. Make sure it's on your list of things needed to get done.

Cold Fusion was useed to program

Hi PK,

thanks for the advise. It seems that cold fusion was the main programming language used on the 3d-magic site.
