Description is sometimes used by search engines as a website’s 'snippet' for search results.
What does the above statement (website’s 'snippet') mean? Please advise. |

Whenever you search for something using a SE (like Google for instance), the results are as follows:
Very nice title phrase to get people to click This is a bit of an explanation of the page, also called a "snippet"... SEs sometimes use the description meta tag for this ... usually spans two lines http://www.example.com/somepage.htm The middle (black text) bit is the "snippet", literally snipped from the page's content or description meta.
