URL Spamming?
I read somewhere that having long keywords seperated by hypens within the title is considered spam by google
whenever i create page i name my url page for example w w w fighting-mma.com/mma-matchups/2008/ufc-88-gambling-dan-henderson-rousimar-palhares.php if my naming the page hurtiung my site? Last edited by sleung : September 2nd, 2008 at 11:04 AM. |

I see that everywhere.. the major news sites do it in their news articles. I see a lot of sites doing it...
look at the way seochat structures their urls... |

we have tested this (and keep testing all the time) so far it has not been bad and has in some cases been good as we have ranked for way out search terms that were relevant and that we did not even think about...

In the end it all depends on whats on the page, and how you have linkbuilt to that page internally and externally for it to be considered spam.

Not Bad yet...
This url type doesn't seem bad yet...I bet as more and more sites/developers use this tactic and stuff the urls with keywords Google will be more aware and restrictive on the keyword density in the URL's.

Example - www.highbets.com/why-football-is-the-best-sport-vs-baseball Football would be much easier to target than baseball in this case. IMO/experience. |
