Unable to see new Backlinks Generated in 3 months time Span

    Hi Guys,

We are working on a website since 3 months and can see backlink data in Ahrefs.com online backlink tool, but it shows 0 backlinks in Webmaster account.account.

Can anyone help me with this issue?

    Thanks

I'm afraid google never show you a full list of backlinks, its just a sample set. I understand its a real pain but thats how they choice to do it.
If ever you have to clean up a site from bad links it would be great if google would give you a full list and indicate any bad ones but they don't I am afraid.
You used to get a clue by looking at the page rank of the link to judge its worth but that's gone as well so everyone is now forced to use 3rd party tools which are debatable on how good they are.

Exactly the same thing I am facing now. Also the clicks is gone to 0 and impressions from 1000 to 800 i.e. also in just month. The SEO tags were recently updated with keywords 4 days ago. Did that changes affected the website?
The sitemap too added in the webmaster, but the status show submitted and not indexed. I can see the pages in Search engine too.

Don't know about where all this confusion in Google Webmaster are arising from.

Bear in mind the time of year, a fair % of the world (not all) are on holiday over the Christmas period and depending on your target audience this is not uncommon.
However if you have recently made chances and seen a negative effect then the conclusion could be the chances you have made may not have helped matters.

Hard to say without knowing a lot more detail but normally if I make changes I wait a full 6 weeks to see if the effect is negative or positive. This allows google to pick up the changes and index my competitors to compare

It is a real estate website. A new pre-launch project in India, selling new flats and apartments. Targeting Indian audience.
On the Christmas period sure it would affect the search queries clicks, but from 600 clicks to 0 ? I am worried if it is anything that is out of my sight. Also it started as soon as we updated the Meta-tags.

Should I wait 2 weeks to see the actual results?

I agree 600 - 0 is extreme. and does sound like something more major is wrong, Make sure you have no penalties showing in search console. sudden drops in traffic like this is normally a strong indicator of of either google unable to crawl the site and blocked or a penalty. In search console try doing a fetch as google to confirm there is nothing blocking their path.

It is important the understand, GSC will show you the first 1000 domains up to 1000 links/domain for a total of one million links. If you only got 1000 domains linking to you and only one link/domain your would see your complete profile based on Googlebot's crawling rate.

If you happen to get the right links that actually impacted your domain the impact would be noticable and the links would show up 3 days later (there is a 3 day lag with GSC).

I have tried fetching 2 or 3 pages and it is fetching them without any issues. Also webmaster didn't display any show penalty message and robot file is like

    User-agent: * Disallow:

As I see nothing is blocking their path.

I just re-read your question, you said you have been working on the site for 3 months, I assumed the site was older and well established. If the site is 3 months old then it is entirely possible that you saw a artificial boost in SERPS, often referred to as the honeymoon period. Now google may have decided on your position which could be well down the list.

If that's not the case and the site is older then I found this blog post which may be of some help How to Diagnose a Sudden Drop in Website Traffic*|*James Parsons

Do you have all variants registered in Webmaster Tools? For example, if Google decides that the https version of your site is the main variant, but you have only verified the http version, then the https version may not show any links.

Just a note that even though I setup this link to be https:// at Palm Beach Gardens Spas & Salons - MB Glow - Spas & Salons GSC records it in the http:// profile. In fact, SEOChat also has the https:// link but it shows in the http:// profile.
