Exclamation Topic of Strong Debate

First time post, so I apologize if this topic is taboo, or perhaps the way I handle it.

I have created "doorway", "gateway", or "smart page" software that I will be selling shortly. I am looking for a small test group of maybe 10 people who want a free full version of the software. Once released, it will cost about $199 subject to the feedback. As to not "spam" this forum, please contact me via e-mail to request a copy. I will accept the first ten. Please only request to be a part of this if you support the use of such SEO practices.

That being said, I expect to be blasted with comments of how this is not appropriate. If it was not appropriate to post for volunteers, I apologize. If it was not appropriate to post about the use of this technique, I disagree and welcome debate. To call this technique "spam" is inappropriate...I take that back, it is ignorant. What I do find inappropriate is creating a page to promote one topic and redirecting to another. Other than that, all is fair in love and SEO.

Todd

PS - Please e-mail using the private message feature of this forum. I will need your e-mail address to send you the URL to download the software. Thanks!

Quality Guidelines - Specific recommendations:

Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines, or other "cookie cutter" approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content.

Most people would not want to do anything that would jeopardise their position in google. If it was reported their site could be penalised or banned.

The "danger" in using doorway pages is a perception. Similar to a gun, they can help you or hurt you depending on how you use them. To shed light on this, I offer you a technique I call "disposable domains." This technique is not applied to your main site. Simply purchase extra domain names and promote the pages of that website in search engines using doorway pages. For 8 bucks and a few dollars for hosting, it is a minimal investment. You can run multiple disposable domains at one time and even interconnect them for more success. They all redirect to your main site. Now, I have heard BUT never seen a site being banned for these practices UNLESS that site was hosting doorway pages on their own domain. Even if the risk is there, it is WELL worth it. I can set up hundreds of thousands of pages on multiple domains for less than $25 a month. Is that not worth the small risk of losing your main site being indexed when you have thousands of pages leading to your site? It beats paying for Adwords. Also, let's not forget that as these pages are picked up in search engines and dropped/banned from others, they are still out there. While one SE banned one or two domains, others have not. Doorway pages are the best thing going and anyone who tells you differently is either using them and doesn't want competition OR they are not calculated risk takers. Todd

Be careful about making it too templated...if Google eventually decides they don't believe it fits their view of a quality site, it will be easier to penalize something that is obviously templated...slight randomization of the actual code may help.

I largely prefer competing against doorway pages than cloaked pages.

That is ignorant. Spam is invasive. I don't ask for e-mail to come into my inbox from companies and utilize MY resources...that is invasive. How is it even possible to "spam" a search engine? That SE came to MY site and used MY resources to index MY pages. They were the ones who were invasive. They can choose to use or not use MY pages in their index. It is SEO against SE no matter how you look at it. And if you are not willing to go to war and use weapons that can get results, then that is good for me...less competition. Keep using your slingshot and I will keep using my carefully guided missles. Good luck!
