Tools ??? Tools ??? Information Overload

I see allot information about SEO optimization.

I see that Web CEO offers some SEO training. Is it worth it? I am skilled with website development. Just never had to deal with SEO because the company I work for does not need it. I am doing a little side work and need to optimize my own sites. Seemed to be allot of advice maybe to much.
I am looking at the following tools. Web CEO,SEO Studio,IMP 8 and WebPosition Gold. The WEB CEO seems to offer some online training. But is it up to date.
I have decided to use dream weaver for most sites and Microsoft VS 2005 for my data driven sites.
I am still going through the learning curve on all the tools.
I think one will even generate some base line page frame work for your optimized key words.

I think there are enough tools and articles on the web that you could use to optimize your site, without needing some expensive training. You can do it by yourself. Just read a lot and experiment. Because nobody really known the exact things to do... everyone got some results and published the ideas. Beeing a SEO engineer involves a lot of reading. And after each update, sometimes you have to start everything from the ground. So, everything that someone might tell you, could be nothing after a couple of months.

Agreed, however the concepts if taught correctly will help you adapt in the future.

Expensive training is not required, a lot of time reading is.

Basics to focus on are always:
    1) onsite optimization (and relevant content generation)
    2) offsite optimization (backlinks backlinks backlinks)

How you handle those 2 main points are where the magic happens.

I do admire the marketing skills of webceo with their 'certification'. I'm sure we'll see a lot more SEO software companies following suit. People love being able to say they're certified in this or that and ultimately, licensing or accredidation in any industry lends to overall credibility in the public eye.
