    Question The "title=" tag?

I was just wondering if any of you have proof that the title="keywords..." works or not?

For example, would it help my site rank higher if people were linking to me and using the title tag? :
    Code:

    <a href=http://www.website.com title="keywords...">keywords...</a>

I doubt it but since nobody can prove it one way or another anyonce can claim that it does.

I don't think it can hurt for SEO (but some folks have suggested that SE's might look at this as an over-optimization attempt), but it's legal HTML, and a useful navigation aide for surfers, so I use it - my two cents.

I never saw any help for SEO but it may be helpful for your visitors.

Ditto. I've never used it and I have great results. I guess it basically boils down to personal preference.

I'm just curious. What's the difference between using the title tag inside the <a> and using alt tags?

Alt-tags are for images. If you mouse-over a textlink which is using a title-tag, the text inside the title will be visible. This woun't happen with an alt-tag inside a textlink, and it ain't valid HTML.

Ah, ok, of course! I hadn't had a coffee yet when I posted.

    Thanks a bunch!
