Text Browser for Win XP
I'm looking for a text-based browser to run on Win XP. I have been reading that text broswers see your page like a spider would, so I'm interested in finding some software to do this.
Any suggestions? |

I don't know of any text based win xp browsers off the top of my head, but what you can easily do is log into your webserver (given that it's running Linux) with an SSH shell, and just run Lynx. Lynx is probably still the best text based browser out there.
I'll be following how this post turns out caue I'd be interested in a text based browser product too. |

http://www.cygwin.com/ (It's by REDHAT) Cygwin is a Linux-like environment for Windows. Click on the link above to read more. Just download the setup utility: http://www.cygwin.com/setup.exe and select the packages you want to install, like lynx and then you can surf the web from within your linux window using Lynx. (it's just like a linux style DOS window, if that makes any sense). I hope this helps! |
