    Sitewide Linking Question

Would it be considered a sitewide link situation if you have two websites that are about the exact same topic and you link each interior page of one website to the other website's related page and back (which is hundreds of pages). So basically, you’re not putting the same link on every page of a website, rather putting a link on every page of a website that links to a related page on another website. So the links are pointed at different URL's with different anchor text, but used in a sitewide way. The links would all be reciprocal also, so the other website would do the same thing. Is this sitewide linking? Could you get penalized for this?

If the linking is between sites from different "C" block Ips, I guess you will get benefit. Otherwise no effect in PR.

Does each page have only one outgoing link to an external site?

Use random deep links instead of links on every page. You will get better results this way.

It probably would have two links that go to the same site, but to different pages. However this can be changed. What do you think? Do you think I could get a penality for this?

Thanks. I'm a bit new to this, could you please explain exactly what you mean by "random deep links?" instead of links on every page?

What I mean by this is that you should use sitewide links as an opportunity to link deep withing the directories of your website. The value of this is that your deep directories often dont get indexed, atleast past 2 direcetories deep. By linking deep, you create a link that the spiders must crawl out of, therefore creating an index for those deep directories.

    I hope this helps...

...and you don't think interlinkig two sites of 300-400 pages of similar content would cause a penalty?

Im not talking about interlinking all those pages. Just a select few. If you do huge site interlinking, of course it will be a penalty. This is why you want to do select deep linking.
