Lots of posts that are a few months old have pr, you just have to wait a bit.

happyallday, there are much better ways of increasing your pr than by posting on forums. get links related to the theme of your website from other websites. that will be far better for you.

Maybe but don't forget this place goes at high speed.
So the pages move faster to the lower levels where they have less PR. You might have a few backlinks... but if you stop posting... bye bye links as their PR drops with their positions. You have to like posting and interacting with the dudes here. |

Have you looked at how many links there are on a thread page? You will not get much PR from posting in forums. It's not an efficient use of your time if you are looking to boost your PR.

I know that the best way to boost PR is reciprocal links (preferably themed) but what if you are just starting out? It's hard to convince a PR 6 to link with a PR0. What strategies would you implement if you had just started a site and where looking to boost your PR so that you could start a reciprocal linking campaign?

Directories - These are what I consider to be the starting point. Boatloads of 'em on the net, so shouldn't be hard to find the ones that have categories for your site. Get some PR going from them, and then the rest will be easier.

Once the pages get archived they tend to have good PR but that takes awhile. I agree with DD and go after some directories like smoz.org and Yahoo directory if your not commercial.
Goto www.isedb.com for a good list of directories and engines. |

I reckon that search engines are going to find 2500 links from the same site a bit suss. The search engines are already getting worried about other kinds of links. Way better in the long run to spread your links around different sites.
Having said that I'm leaving my sig on here - I really don't think it'll help long term PR, but I think it will become an ignore thing rather than a penalty thing. |
