I notice that companies like tigerdirect.com post their whole URL in their links on their website:
Example: <a href="http://www.tigerdirect.com/images/123.jpg"> as opposed to: <a href="/images/123.jpg"> Is one better for SEO and if so why or why not??? Thanks in advance, Bebandit ![]()

It really, really doesn't matter at all. At least not for Google, and since you posted this in the Google Opt. subforum, I guess that's your main concern.
Just pick one... I prefer relative links, but on some occasions (for example if you tend to move parts of your site, but leave the pictures in place) absolute links might come in very handy. It doesn't matter to googlebot... It translates every link to an absolute link, and it knows how to tell internal from external links without looking solely at the content of the HREF attribute...

Awesome!!!
That's good to know. I will stick to relative links for now since it is easier and takes up less space
Thanks for your advice!!! Bebandit ![]() |
