Sharing site content

Hello all.

I manage a website offering a professional service and would like to add some free information pages for visitors where appropriate. I have permission from another site own to use some of his content on my free info pages and will give full credit to him as the writer.

How will search engines feel about seeing text repeated on another site? Could one or both sites be penalised and if so, what steps can I take to avoid it.

Many thanks

Srivvy

Block Search Engines from those pages by using robots.txt or the appropriate META tags.

exactly... don't let the spiders eat your dupe content
this could very fast turn out to be counterproductive.
