Sure doesnt fit here, but your right, buying keywords in the address bar or dealing with companies like I get Net certainly are scams to be sure :-)
I'll look for a better place for the thread

Hmm cant move specific posts, ah well guess I'll leave it. perhaps next time Mikey you may want to consider posting in the general chat and gossip, although SEO Chat does not condone the defamation of any specific company, warning about general things such as features that require a download in order to see results are certainly worth warning against.
In fact Google themselves in their guildines to webmasters "What are some other things to look out for? There are a few warning signs you may be dealing with a rogue SEO. It's far from a comprehensive list, so if you have any doubts, you should trust your instincts. By all means, feel free to walk away if the SEO: owns shadow domains puts links to their other clients on doorway pages offers to sell keywords in the address bar doesn't distinguish between actual search results and ads that appear in search results guarantees ranking, but only on obscure, long keyword phrases you would get anyway operates with multiple aliases or falsified WHOIS info gets traffic from "fake" search engines, spyware, or scumware has had domains removed from Google's index or is not itself listed in Google " Source*http://www.google.com/webmasters/seo.html Your situation is bolded, sorry to hear you fell for the scam |

What wories me the most is that the general public who are walking into these traps are more than those that get to meet the "real" SEO Specialists. These companies damages SEO and should be openly discussed as it affects us and our future. They market big time by means of spamming. I mean how many of your custommers has phoned you in panic and wanted to know what is going on, cause these guys guarentee them top10 on Yahoo and Google or they are about to fall of Google. I wish they would dissapear to be honest. I just wish that this company had an oppertunity to answer to these alegations. But I guess thats not what this forum is for!
