I have just had a UK based seo company????
Call me and promise me 1st page for 10 keywords in the top 10 search engines. After asking some questions I found out they would do this by submitting my website to 10000 search engines and for only £700/$1200. After I had finished pi$$ing myself with laughter I declined and asked how did they rank in the engines "we don't bother to optimize our website we don't have to". Enough said. Thats made my day. I have spent about £3000 on the past 2 years with companies like this and now I have followed the advise in these forums I realise I was robbed.

There is one company in the UK I have been trying to get my money back from for 18 months I cancelled the direct debit and they keep stalling saying their engineers are trying something new.
The site in question has 1 Back link from Lycos. And the keywords they have chosen to optimize my site for are furniture Weston super mare, Indian furniture Somerset. Not exactly hard ones to get one 1st page for. My granny could do better. Luckily it’s for a domain I purchased some time ago. I suppose you don't get much for £20 a month. |

Funniest thing i have heard SEO related for a long time, submitting to 10,000 Search Engines isn't SEO. Dont bother buying these schemes to be submitted to millions of search engines. There are only 5 very common ones, 20 decent ones to be in and 100 which are used a bit. Quite alot of people on thsi foruma re only bothered to be in Google. Dan p.s. this company a ltd? do you know their address? |

Went on it, says what the web address is, i typed it in, didnt work without the www, i added the www and has a PR0 - i wouldnt trust that company with monopoly money let alone real money...
Dan p.s. I think we should be able to name and shame them to an extent so people dont fool for dodgy stuff. Say a company was called pineapple and web address pineapple.tld, we shouldn't say the company name as that could be seen as copyright infrigement and bad image etc. We should put elppaenip and elppaenip.tld (the company name and website in reverse) |

Inner pages have PR6 and this is their secret "..they are forwarded straight to the MAIN WEBSITE using unique cloaking technology, undetectable to search engines.."

So google will not penalise them for that?
It make you wonder if using the correct and ethical techniques is worth it. I must admit to having some tiny text on my front page but thats to test my theory that the lower the density the better google likes it. It seems to be correct for the keyword furniture. |
