    SEO Ranking

    Hello,

My main SEO concern now is ranking for the cities I teach in. According to Yoast SEO plugin, I need to have 400 words in a page to rank well for a certain cities. Is this really necessary? For example, for Woodbury violin lessons, Woodbury Violin Lessons | Violin Lessons | Pro Violin, and other city pages, do I need to have at least 400 words?

Like I said before, I will address website speed later with newsite.proviolin.com.

    Thank you.

The links you are dropping here are not helping your SEO and could in fact hurt it.

Ok, still am not sure about the answer to my question. Do I need to have 400 words on a page to rank well for it?

Don't be a slave to Yoast. Write naturally and include everything you want to include. Just make sure you're satisfying the user and all will be good

Ok, well maybe I should only use Yoast for getting guidance on using enough transition words, making sentences short enough and talking in the active voice enough. What do you think?

Be careful with your URLs and Titles. Some of them are cutting it close to keyword stuffing.

Also, most of your location pages are just duplicates of each other without offering any unique content. I understand you want to increase your rankings for each location but there are better ways to do it. I think you're overthinking things and possibly shooting yourself in the foot.

I've already told you about Yoast.

Ok, what is keyword stuffing? I ask because my keyword stuffing is only at 2% keyword density tops and how do I know if I'm keyword stuffing?

Will google penalize me if I have duplicate content on my website?

How should I be doing SEO? I feel like it's a big secret. Is there a reliable guide on this you could send me the link for?

    This https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo

Read in detail and take things step by step.

In all honesty you're asking way too many things at once and looking for black and white answers when there isn't any.

There's no big secret in SEO, it's a combination of a lot of different things coming together over a long period of time.

It's kind of like someone who's never played the violin asking you "how long 'til I can play like Vivaldi?", there's a million different factors to consider.

Ok, thanks for the link. If I had six different teaching locations, would it be okay to make six different pages? Just throwing out hypotheticals but still want to know.

As long as the content is unique you should be fine.

stop thinking about SEO. Think about what would be interesting to your visitors and create that content.
