Search Engine Friendly URL's
I am trying to determine, that this would be the best way to do my URLs for my dynamic site.
#1 example.com/article.php?id=2343 vs. #2 example.com/article.php/2004/05/03/2343.html Isn't the number 2 the best way to get the spiders to fully index my site. Also what is the best way to get my site deep spidered if have about 200,000 pages currently and google, yahoo, etc.. Haven't gone past my front section pages. And growing about 1.5% a month, so I would like a full spider shortly so that it will be easier for the spiders to keep updated on my site. |

Link deep into your site - at multiple points - with heavy PR.

#2 is more search engine friendly

Have to agree with Egol! I had the same problem with my Real Estate site but if you link deep from various early pages this seems to improve the situation allot. #2 Seems great!

dynamic asp or php pages can be indexed just fine.
so there is nothing wrong with #1 either. some say that 'id' is a problem with google. ...but i still see plenty of pages indexed with id in the url. ![]()

Thank you for your help.
I know that Google will spider my site with the example #1 (article.php?id=234) But will the keep spidering or does it stop earlier than if I use example #2 (article.php/20234.html) Thank You. |

i think #2 will be better, and you should try to link to a page where it has a few of your deep links off the main page so that the PR is passed onto a deep deep link.
