    Schema Optimization

    I am attempting to optimize my schema data. Just a couple of days ago I added the schema data to only my index page, so I still do not have any structured data appearing in search console. Currently, I have some simple JSON-LD schema implemented. See below:

    Code:
    <script type="application/ld+json">
    {
      "@context": "http://schema.org",
      "@type": "Organization",
      "url": "https://mbkit.com",
      "name": "MB Kit Systems",
      "description": "MB Kit Systems uses its high-quality T-slot extruded aluminum framing to design and assemble linear motion systems, machine guarding, machinery and other structures.",
      "logo": "https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/mbkitsystems/mbkLogo.png",
      "contactPoint": {
        "@type": "ContactPoint",
        "telephone": "+1-888-729-4500",
        "contactType": "Customer service"
      }
    }
    </script>
    I chose this option because on Google's "Introduction to Structured Data" page they have it listed as the recommended type.

    What I am wondering is what else I should or can put in the schema. I cannot find options for this anywhere.

    In addition, does anyone think I should add microdata as well and let the two work in tangent?

    Thanks

    It's tough to appear for your business on Google solely through Organization Schema, they tend to only shower bigger businesses for this.

    The markup is correct though, and they will be reading it. Be patient, it should show in the search console eventually.

    As for adding to it, it depends on what type of business you are. But, the likelihood is you could add to it for sure. Check out schema.org

    Here are the reasons Google may reject your schema markup
    Pay attention to bulleted items 2 , 3. and 5 in the infographic

    You have incomplete structure data present and that could be cause for Google to ignore your schema markup in it's entirety on this page.
    Fix it. I would suggest you remove this particular schema !

    In my opinion, this is your problem. You are using schema markup to deliver content that is not available and results in a 404 error page.
    Here is what Google reports for it.

    Note the link points to https://mbkit.com/footerTop

    Here is what that links delivers to a user.

    What part are you suggesting that I remove? I have existing microdata in the file, one specifically being
    <div id="footerTop" itemscope>
    . Is this causing the error? I forgot I still had it in there.

    Or, are you referring to my script data? Should I use microdata along with the script?

    I always use Json-LD, I recommend you do not mix schemas, less of a headache for you.

    Just to make sure we are on the same page...

    see the picture, see the red arrow, get rid of that one... "Unspecified Type"

    See bulleted item #5 in my previous post. >>> Type Specific Guidelines <<<<

    Thanks. I removed it and the error is now gone.

    I went to schema.org to find more information on the script and the types of information I can add to my code. I cannot find anything other than information on microdata. Does anyone have a link for this?
