I have an ecommerce store made on a platform called Storenvy in which I want to do SEO for, but I was told this is a replicated website and search engine will not claw for SEO. Is this true?

Is it a exact copy of another site already on the net?

Way to little info to help you here.. But you can create a website using duplicated content. Chedders and Thomas Harvey have done just that...

    zebo.co.uk check it out...

It is a platofrm to make ecommerce store but all stores are made in the same format for everybody, you only get to customise the items, background, and shop policy.

If it's the same format for everyone I'd move away from it, it'll require a bit of work but it'll be worth it.

There are many sites that use exactly the same theme. Using the same layout and theme will not keep you from ranking because another site is using it first. Its about how you create your titles, descriptions and content in general. WordPress proves this point everyday. How many folks use the same WP theme. A lot do, but they don't have ranking problems because some sites use the same theme. They have ranking issues because of poorly written titles, descriptions and poor content in general. (Now I know meta descriptions are not ranking indicators but they do affect CTR and a higher CTR brings in the money) and making foolish mistakes like leaving a robots meta tag that says, no-follow no-index. That can kill a site as fast as lightning.

You learn to write good titles using your keywords, even tho you may be using the manufacturers product descriptions, you can rank the site. Just because it's a cookie cutter theme, does not mean you will not rank. It just means you have to do your research and use your Keywords correctly and smartly.

Basically whom ever told you that is wrong. Now if you have done it poorly you may want to outsource it to a pro. Learning SEO is not an over-night cram for the exam like you did for college. It's really a lot of hard work, learning mostly what doesn't work first and then finding what does by fixing your mistakes.

Stick around, ask more specific questions, there are a lot of us here that can help you.

My bad, I thought she said she couldn't seo that platform, once I read it again I see that wasn't the question. Disreguard my answer above.

Don't forget about IBL, in bound links. Which has nothing to do with onpage seo.
