Remove links to pages that have a PR0

Hi All,

I have a few pages that are not doing so well in Google but are doing very well in MSN and a few other engines. I do not want to remove the pages because of thier rankings in MSN. If I just remove all of the links to those pages will Googlebot continue to find them? My thoughts were to leave the pages 'stranded' in the root directory while MSN picks up the new 'replacement' pages and then remove them when they fall from MSN's rankings. I am certain that Google did not like those pages and I would like the Googlebots to assume they were gone.

Any input would be great!

Thanks,

John

For Googlebot not to find them you would have to make sure that all internal and external links no longer exist.

Gringo.

If they appear on MSN pages someone else may link to them and they may just live forever...

I changed the URL on a page that had a PR 3 and replaced it with a blank page bearing only a link to the new URL and it took four months for that blank page to stop getting hits...

Perhaps the best way would be to use a specific robots.txt ban for Googlebot:

User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow: /folder/file.htm

This will allow other engines to still see them!

Why do you feel that Google doesn't "like" those pages?

Assuming there is no spamming, etc... what reason would you have to base that belief? (Asking with all due respect)
