Remove content from Google Index
Hi,
Is there an effective way to remove content from a website that has been previously indexed by Google? I have run a promotion site and do not want old promotions (previously indexed & cached in SERPs) to show after the promotion is finished. Is it possible to let the promotional page get indexed when the promotion is running, and subsequently remove the same indexed page from the SERPs once the promotion is complete? Thanks |

Added them to your robots.txt file and use the remove page function in the webmaster console.

Examples-cases-yahoo-msn
Thanks for your help. Just wondering if we have any examples of other similar sites using the _unavailable after tag? Are there any limitations to this?
Does anyone have any insights on how Yahoo or MSN handles this too? i.e. remove the content from the snippet & remove the content from cache. |

Instead of removing your indexed content from the SERPs, consider using 301 redirects to redirect those old promotions to new or current ones.
