    Redirecting Domains

    Hi

I have several different tld extensions of the same domain that I wish to point to my main site mysite.co.uk

All domains are with 1 and 1 but hosting for mysite.co.uk is elsewhere.

If I forward the different tld extensions to mysite.co.uk through the 1 and 1 control panel it will be a 302 redirect.

Would this be ok or should it be a 301 and if so how would I do this.

    Many Thanks

    Dan

I'm not familiar with the 1and1 control panel, but the redirects here should be 301s (Permanent) and not 302s (Temporary). I'd look for an FAQ guide or Help section or 1and1 customer service to guide you through how to implement 301s rather than 302s.

    Hope that helps!

1 and 1 sent me this link 301 Redirect - How to create Redirects - htaccess redirect

But I only want to redirect the domains and they are not actually sites so not sure if anything on this link applies?

    Cheers Danny

a 301 will help you out .. a 302 will be a problem for you, if you are talking about ranking the well for specific terms.
