Question Re Inlinks

Every hour or so i would check on my site inlinks from yahoo and it keeps on fluctuating. Other times it will go low and at other times it will go up. Do you guys have any idea why? Can't it maintain the same inlinks everyday?

Facebook
Yahoo

Hi,

You have to remember what a huge task collating and storing this kind of information is. Even the simple task of serving such information requires several data centres - let alone the grunt needed to scan and index it all.

So the result of this? each time you query your Yahoo back links your probably getting an answer from a different server. These all wont be in synch all the time - the overhead of doing that is too large. So your results will vary.

I would not get hung up scanning this every hour, use that time to generate decent content and finding new back links.

Dave

on a side note, try majesticseo.coms' free tool for another look at those links...I've been playing with same for a few months, and can comment that it seems to pretty 'steady' in it's numbers....

oh, they also say that they've got a bigger dbase than G itself I think somewhere it's on the site too if I remember correctly....

is link diagnosis any good?

http://www.linkdiagnosis.com

I've been using it and it seems useful as it shows the anchor texts etc.

Thoughts?

Thanks JVRudnick for the idea. The majesticseo's FF plugin seems to work well.

This type of fluctuation is normal and happens all the time with all the sites which are being promoted and you do not need to worry about it and keep on promoting your site using white hat seo techniques only.
