Re: Doorway page ideas

Hi there, I was just wanting to know if anyone has had much experiance with doorway web pages?

I dont know if I have used the correct terminilogy.

Basicaly we have a business website. E.g. malsgroseryshop.com.

We have purchased. E.g. groceriesaustralia.com.

Our website is currectly under the 1st url and we want to leave it there.

Would redirecting users from the 2nd url to the 1st work?

Would we have to build a 1 page webstie instead of the redirection?

Or would we have to create a full website and create links to our existing website?

If anyone has had some positive results please give some ideas to help.

I forgot to mention, basicaly we want to come up in 1st page of search engines for our selected "local" key phrase but are finding it difficult because of the competition.

Key phrase example only: groceries australia.

I am not so sure about the redirection question, as I am not knowledgeable enough to answer that. I would THINK all you need to do is redirect the groceriesaustralia.com to your main domain but don't take my advice because I am not POSITIVE.

On the other hand, if groceries australia is too competive start with something smaller. Ex: groceries sydney australia.

You need to be doing extensive keyword research and try to optimize for as many related keywords as you can that are easier to rank for.

Start off by looking at google trends, then look at google adwords keyword suggestion tool, then SEOBook's keyword suggestion tool. DigitalPoint has a keyword tool that will give you the top ten words from wordtracker and thats a FREE tool and so are all of the others that I have mentioned. MSN Ad Labs is beginning to become a better and better tool the more data that it obtains and allows you to view the "intent" of the user because you can type in your keyword and see what people searched before and after that.

Spend all the necessary time possible on your keyword research. If you don't do the proper research, then how are you going to know what to optimize for? You will waste tons of time.
