Quick question
Would linking from the same site to another site say 3 times with different anchor texts hurt me or help me?
say I own one site and own another site both on different IPs and servers but say in the footer of the one I like "good keyword" "another keyword" and "another keyword" all the the same url would that hurt or is that ok or should I pick different urls of the other site?

If the links go to the same page only the first link will be counted. If the links go to different pages on the same site all the links will bring benefit.

It will hurt that site and maybe the other, your trying to maniuplate the Serps 1990s style, its not going to work regardless of different IPs etc
It matters not if you pick different URLs on the other site, heck if it was that easy you could just put X number of different anchor text in each page; SiteA to X different pages on SiteB, then you could go further and have site A1, A2, A3 etc etc all doing the same, this doesnt work now, its easy to figure out the relationships between the sites
