Quick Q about shtml
I need to convert all html pages on my site to shtml. I'm assuming search engines will look at these pages no differently but I just wanted to make sure.
So do search engines treat these 2 file types the same? Thanks in advance. -Goalie35 |

Hey Goalie, Yes .shtml files are treated exactly the same as .html files, and also .htm files for that matter. Before using php, I used to use shtml a lot and had great success with it. hth |

Do note though that changing from .html to .shtml will not automatically assign your existing pr to the new page.
You'll have to do a 301 redirect in order to pass on your pr to the new .shtml pages. Just thought id mention that incase you hadnt thought of it. |

I have shtml files on several sites and they are doing great - even with the current shuffle in google. These sites also do great at yahoo and msn.
