Question for webby
Hi Webby,
I was reading about the stuff you'd done with phpbb, making it SE friendly. I notice you've done some stuff with mod_rewrite for making forum post URL's look static and i'd be interested in doing the same for windows with IISrewrite , any chance i could see what rewrite rules you've written so i can convert them ? Maybe we could post the results up here for others to use ? Jon |

Actually, it's a misconception that I used mod_rewrite on my forum to get it SE freindly. It was done through what is know as php path arguments. You can through renaming (dupilicating) php pages without a suffix (eg. "viewtopic") through the use of .htaccess filetypes make search engine friendly urls (and not only for forums). It's fairly heavy. but possible with phpbb. If you want the files and instructions, pm me and I'll send them to you.
