I dont understand when I google search for for my domain all i get is the domain--no meta info
Asia Expats Forum But can see from viewing source code that meta info is there. I am using my hosts redirect to redirect from a blank index.html to my portal page. What am I doing wrong? Should I put all that meta tag data into the blank html file?? Also I don tsee where to put my signature info into my profile on this site. I stopped the server redirection and let it use the htacess to redirect now it works and the meta info is reognized. Last edited by mdbusa : October 3rd, 2004 at 05:40 AM. |

Google dosen't use meta tags. As far I I know it uses <title> and <body> content. |

Fact is: if you want to redirect, you really have to do it yourself. Most hosts don't care about what shows on the Google serps, so - for example - they put up a simple frameset with the redirected-to site in a 100% frame. Stuff like that. Pretty useless for what you need. .htaccess is a lot more powerful. For those unaware, check out Aleister's post about that in this thread. |
