    I say:
Posting nonsense questions to boost post count in this forum is "Quantity".
Inability to write one sentence in English in your posts is "Quality", although very poor Quality.
Finally, if you focus on QUALITY, QUANTITY will happen; however, with any large QUANTITY, QUALITY will never happen.

What if I don't need long term ranks. I really just need to rank ASAP for a few months then I don't care if the domain goes belly up. Would you still choose quality links over a successful Russian link wheel?

You could argue that if you did a marketing campaign to perfection in terms of quality, then maybe it would still outrank the russian wheel. We keep talking about how SEO is no longer a case of getting a few guest posts and making your on-page SEO airtight, it's more about promoting your product/service on array of different platforms - not saying it would be easy, but if done correctly I still think it would outdo any artifical method. Saying that, you have more experience than me so I'm sure you'll maybe say otherwise.

Talking about the russian wheel though - does this type of method still work? As I recall you saying that you hadn't bought any links for 5 years, or something close. Can you be sure that Google can't stamp on these attempts sooner, or even ignore them?

Even in that case, onsite quality is more important. You need to fool people effectively.
Also offsite quality in links are important if we have to rank it fast. Those selling "buy facebook likes", "cheap twitter follower" and "bulk youtube views" use this method all the time. So do escort sites. They are taken down in 3-6 months ultimately.

The basic rule of quantity is more = better. For many SEO tactics it works this way (although Google might say it doesn’t). More links are in essence more effective for SEO. More content does increase the chances of getting found. Using more keywords in text does make it easier for search engines to recognize topics.

If you care about your site and want to build a reputation along with authority, then quality... don't waste your time with quantity.

The only way you are going to attract a reader's attention is if they enjoy what they read. Otherwise they will come to your site, start reading low quality info and bounce right back which Google will monitor and assume your content is less than interesting.

Of course quality SEO, as Google now only gives importance to the quality SEO. We should focus on quality content with properly optimization. All time we need to build quality link, before building links we should check site's authority and relevancy.
