Quality of SEO Doctor

Hello -

I have searched the forum for a thread on SEO Doctor tool but nothing has come up. I have been using tips from this forum to slowly optimize my site (thanks everyone). I came across this tool http://www*instantposition.com/seo_doctor*cfm or Google Search for SEO Doctor Tool (because its the tool i want feedback on, not the website that has it) which seems to sum up most of the On Site advice. Are there any drawbacks to this tool. I just thought it was strange it hasn't really been mentioned.

I also realize that off site is very important and I've been working real hard on that too.

Just wanted to get feedback on it before I start optimizing to make my score go up LOL.

It's not bad per se, but I don't think it's all that great - for example it gives the keyword meta tag the same weight as the description meta tag, and bold the same weight as heading tags.

Bah, those things are made for lazy people. You won't get anywhere if you just use tools, you nEed to do these things by hand.

I don't understand your post... what isn't being done by hand .. That tool only combines the other tools to give you a rating based on the on site SEO you have done. I know it may not be perfect but I thought it would help a newbie by seeing immediate feedback on what you changed or added. You must have followed a different link that did it for you.

I have read it and tried every tool on there and read every article. I've been changing HTML (by hand fryman) and going after backlinks. I just thought the visual part of the tool was nice for newbies like myself to start before using trial and error to adjust the finer points.

Thank you stinkoman as that was the kind of feedback I was after - the way the tool makes the assesment it gives
