PR Without Link Exchange?

Is it possible to effectively get a high PR without link exchanging? Also might people looking for traffic agree to link exchange with me if i put their link in a noframes tag where only spiders will see it?

Well if you put someones link where visitors wont see it they aint gonna get much traffic from that are they?

Sarcasm aside, the best way to generate links is to have something of incredible value on your site. Digital Point, for example, doesn't need to do reciprical links purely on the strength of their tools which are linked to constantly.

If you are setting up a "links" page, put a little thought into it. You CAN have a "links" page and benefit from it also. Why not interweave those links into content and "sell" it to your visitors as a resource. Then you get the added benefit of SERPs from that new content you created.

The possibilities are actually endless with a little creativity. What you want to stay away from is a Links page with a list of links and nothing else. That is where you will be losing the benefit and not helping yourself.

Yeah, if you are very very patient. It's a bit of a catch 22. You need to be seen in serps to get natural links, but need links to listed and seen in serps. So unless you do some link exchange to get the machine rolling, it will be very long.
