.php vs. .html
Hi All,
Someone just told me that if you name your pages .php, it hinders your rankings. Is that true? Thanks Michelle |

For long quieries
If you have a static .php, .asp, or .htm page it wont make any difference in your SEO. What does make a difference is the dynamics of your content - SPiders do not crawl databases, so make sure any dynamic content on a .php page is presented as static content on the web. Another factow to take into consideration is your URL.
If the URL contains long quiery strings like this http://forums.seochat.com/newreply....uote=1&p=173583 it could negativly affect indexing of your site. Try converting this to something like http://forums.seochat.com/newreply/...wer/myreply.asp There is software you could use to convert your urls like this example and make your pages look static. |

Hi there,
Ahh, I had no idea since I just started w/ Mambo, a CMS. So can this software be used for CMSs such as Mambo? I have no idea how to make my content look static. Should I keep the URL as .php, or make it .html? Thanks Michelle Quote:

You can change your pages from php/asp into html with a mod re-write or with using a program like httrack (http://www.httrack.com) but if your pages are .php with no strings after like (.php?dfdsf=dfsdf ) then you shouldn't have any problems in getting ranked.

Additionally, it is generally believed that you can get slightly better result if you use descriptive url string like
yourDomain/real-estate/california/ventura/big-house/
