    Panda Hit? Loss of rankings

    Hi everyone,

really would appreciate some help with my site - the domain is signaturestairs(dot)co(dot)uk - the rankings seems to have taken a hit following the panda update...the site has been optimized on-page using good practice methods such as unique title tags, meta desc, header tags, alt tags and have avoided any sort of keyword stuffing within the content. Competitor sites that are optimized in similar way have got rankings of position 1, 2 or 3 and even some sites that aren't optimized have got good placements.

Anyone in a position to know what need to do to regain rankings? Content isn't really thin and is completely unique so covered in that regard the only issue is don't publish fresh content regularly but neither do competitors who currently have good rankings?

Also have a domain signaturestairs(dot)ie which is aimed at Irish market & rankings haven't dropped as much and this site has unique content which is different from uk site.

    Very confused!

You don't have any inbound links (according to backlinkwatch) Links = ranks. I don't know how you were ranking before with no links vs myriad sites with strong IBL profile.

Hi there - thanks for the response, yes there are very few links so know I need to focus on this...just curious as to the sudden drop in but perhaps Google merely decided that strong on-site wasn't enough...thank you so much for checking though, really appreciate to you taking the time to do so

Nowadays, It is not a easy thing to retain the website to its old rankings when it was hit by penguin/panda.

Up to me : Staircases got hit not because of Inbound Links.
    The Reasons:
    1. Of Course you have thin content.
    2. Some pages missed to pass the link juice.

Don't worry.... I checked your website and found that you have few backlinks for your website... why don't you just start building backlinks with brand keywords... It will regain its ranking... but focus on creating backlinks first.

How old is the site? If it's a new site, it may have just had a honeymoon boost to help it to rank higher for a little while.

Normally Panda tends to hit larger sites that are filled with thin and duplicate content. Given that your site only has under 30 pages in the index, my first thought was that this is not Panda. However...there's a possibility that Google is seeing the .co.uk site as a copycat of the .ie site and this can be a measure of low quality in the eyes of Panda. I see that you have used different wording on the two sites, but visually the sites look nearly identical. I really don't know if Google can recognize the similarities but if they can they they are probably deciding that they only want to rank one of these highly.

It's a tough call though...I can't say for certain whether this is the issue.

two days before the update, our traffic was spiking up. two days after, it slipped down. Not that low, but the difference is significant. Right now, I'm hoping we're just experiencing the Google dance. I read it take 4-5 days for everything to settle down. I'll check this week for any progress. It's a wait and see from here.

Thank God I didn't get hit by Panda update. I saw many sites got hit by Panda update in last 3-4 days and sudden drop down in rankings. I use mainly the most appropriate and genuine way to make links and in this way you can also be safe from any update of Google. There are many genuine SEO solution which everyone should use to promote the site and for getting ranking.

The two known algorithm-Panda and Penguin hit your site and ranking downs. One is for low quality of content and other is for spam links. From starting onwards, do follow Google guidelines and Algorithms.

I haven't checked your metrics yet, but my first question to you if received any message on Webmaster Tool. I know people with no links to show on Site Explorer but still they rank for many keywords.
Besides the list you mentioned above of what you did you should've also done the following:
    1. Increase CTA and use some Forms on the website
    2. Your Facebook page looks pretty much active (Fake fans or really active ones?)
    3. Start your campaign locally - spread some flyers
    4. Participate to local activities where your name could be mentioned ( Chamber of commerce - clubs - social activities - local news papers )
    5. Create new content weekly - share on your channels ( this should be done regular )
    6. Participate on local forums to get real reviews
    7. Ask your previous clients to leave reviews.
    8. Rich snippets + rel=author included.

All that will grow your G+ authorship on Google.

So if you got hit - you will recover after 1 or 2 updates with your traffic, because if you got hit that's what happens.

If you need some consultancy let me know. I can give some more useful tips.

    Sincerely,
    Matt

It is difficult to maintain ranking of website after panda update 4.0. It hit your site and your website ranking could go down if it has poor quality content.
