    On-page SEO

On page optimize. I visit several webmaster forum and some SEO expert says On-page SEO is the most important and must be follow
    1. Title
    2. Meta keyword
    3. Meta Description
    4. Keyword destiny
    5. Alt tag
    6. Code Structure (H1, H2, H3)
    7. Load time
    8. Content
Some SEO experts agree some points as like title, Code structure (H1, H2, H3), Alt tag, Unique content. But most of the points not agree as like Meta Description, Keyword destiny, keyword destiny because those generate automatically.

    So confuse who are right?

I think it's the whole English as a second language deal, but just to be sure - on-page opt is not the most important until you reach a level of authority somewhat like that of the NYTimes.

Until then, off-page is most important.

But, in order of importance in regards to on-page optimization, I'm actually starting to think that site structure is more important than page titles.

Lots will disagree with me on that, I'm sure.

    But tides are a changing.....

Look at the titles you see in Google - do you always see the title element that is actually on the page, or is it a toss-up between what is there and what is most relevant (or just whatever they felt like putting there?.... )

I'm not dumbing down the importance of great title tags - they can do wonders for your site. But I'm honestly seeing bigger revolutions coming from having an excellent site structure than from changing title tags alone.

But.... I go holistic and change them all at once, and get the most bang for the buck.

Putting things like this in order of importance is rather pointless.... Change it all in one go instead of changing all your titles. Then all your h1s. Then all your alts.... That's a time waster - build the page, move on to the next.

OH, but ignore density. meta data doesn't mean squat for rankings, and destiny is something altogether different...... and actually goes against free will.....

    breadcrumbs anyone?

I am surprised no one mentioned breadcrumbs.

they are being pulled into the serps for some good sites instead of your url. I kinda love that.

That is right now my most Fav Site Architecture influencing instrument.

    jsteele823,

Do not want to obstruct you, but OnPage is really an important factor even if you are not an authority.

Recently our designer and developers completely rebuilt our company website, without considering the work of SEO (it wasn't considered important from point of view of stupid higher authority). On June 5th they made the website live, having OnPage stuff absent on it. Within one or two days we started loosing our position for most of the keywords we were ranking for.

So, for me it's practical knowledge. OnPage does really matters.

I can even show the graphs if you wish to see the proof.

For On Page Optimization url of that page is most important. Then comes title, alt tag and other things. Meta Keyword or Meta description is not very important for On page optimization. But when your page is searched it will display information of your page in google search page.
