optimizing phrases for other languages
i use google.com, but i know that there are other google variations for countries such as google.es (spanish), google.fr (france) etc.
does anyone know if it is a good idea to optimize a few phrases for different languages...for instance would it be benefitial to optimize my phrase 'webmaster resources' to 'los recursos del webmaster' ... do people in the other countries use their version of google by default, or do some use the .com as well? Just curious. -Todd

If you want to optimize for several languages you better dedicate a page per language.
Usually each country has it's own Google interface, so it is useful to have a page per language you want to reach. |

Yes... and split the site in sections and put a language button on the pages. If people see a GERMAN button within the chinese all over the page, they will press on it and have the german page they understand. Lots of people use the translation feature for pages... not bad... but far from being your own text. |
