Forum posting or blog commenting and why ?
To get good results? Neither.
For me this depends on what you mean by good results; and depends even more on what your comment/post is.
From an SEO point of view I don't think either are 'good'; they may add a little value; but may not! (blog commenting has been devalued for a long time now AND I'm hearing - but haven't read myself - that the new Google guidelines say that forum posting to pass PR is now a no-no).
If by 'good' you mean that you post good quality information in your forum/blog posts or answers and that as a result people visit your site to do business with you - then both can be good.
Forum posting & Blog commenting both are essential thing in point of SEO, Which gives more traffic and leads to your website. And it increase your business revenue. So we must need to do forums & blogs.
Sorry to pick on you for this thread Peterraimi but... OMFG WHY!!!Originally Posted by peterraimi

You clearly know nothing about link building or what forums and blogs are meant to be sued for so please stop giving very bad and incorrect advice to people until you know what your talking about!
Forum links = NOTHING TO GOOGLE
Spam blog comment links = NOTHING TO GOOGLE
So save your time, stop spamming forums and blogs for links that likely wont even be looked at by google and start to learn how to build quality likes that will actually help your site!

Also I just noticed this in the new google guidelines, check this link http://support.google.com/webmasters...answer=2721437 google are even telling webmasters and site owners etc to remove your spam blog comments and rubbish forum posts!
Just goes to show how wrong your advice is telling people to do exactly what google DON'T want you to do!

Thanks Nathaniel for posting that link...I hope others will also read it.
Both are good, as blogs get indexed faster than other websites. If you got backlink from blog site, i is good.
On other hand, forum link are reliable and for long term, more and more people join the discussion. You can post more than one link at a time. Signatures are useful in forums...

Hi,
I think both have their own importance in seo. In blog commenting we can submit our site links and keywords in our comments. Thus, get a large traffic to our sites. On the other hand forum posting is also a very good off-page seo practice in which we post our answer along with signature to get target traffic to our sites.

In SEO, both forum posting and blog commenting are good in order to improve your traffic. Both are activities for SEO Off-page optimization, and through these activities you can get back-links. But both are risky as well. You should properly study and understand all concepts related to SEO.
Why do people keep posting that both are good for SEO, long after it has been proven on the last page that it is not?
Because the people who post stuff like this on auto-pilot don't actually read what is being said.
In fact: I'm going to close this thread before one of us bursts a vein or something. Thank you all for your contributions, people![]()
