No-cache dilemma/problem
I'm building a shopping cart for the moment, which is supposed to be SE-friendly. But I have ran into a dilemma/problem because of the Opera browser.
If a user chooses a different language in the shopping cart, the new language is stored into a cookie (If the user has cookies activated). If cookies are activated, and a new language is choosen, the page will refresh so the new chosen language can be reflected in the text on the website. This work's very well in IE and Mozilla, but Opera doesn't refresh properly (I'm using meta-refresh), and shows the page which is cached. If I add some no-cache script this refresh will also work in Opera, but then I will get into trouble with the SE, or?

No, actually it wont be a problem for SE, just perhaps for your traffic which will increase this way.

So you are saying that no-cache won't affect the SE? It's only one page I need to use the no-cache on, for the moment this is the default page (which is handling the cookies). SE's and people without cookies activated will be presented either a rewritten URL that have the different languages as a parameter, or some pages which isn't rewritten with the parameter as a string (default.asp?lang=1). What's your thought's?

Hu, that depends of your programming, do you want the SE to see all languages ?

Yes, I wan't the SE to see all the languages (which I see as an advantage since I haven't seen many/any(?) cart's that do this).
Hu, that depends of your programming, I didn't quite understand that. No-cache is no-cache, isn't it? Or did you think of something else? |

I was talking about the urls if you want to be search engine friendly, you should make links to the parameter pages , rewrited or not, and make potentially refresh the pages to this same pages. |

It will be SE-friendly, I will deliver the spiders those url's in severals different ways.
I will also try to see if I can make the spiders shop and pay before they leave.. But back to my question, no-cache won't affect the spiders? |

Since I only got one answer, but wasn't 100% convinced since I only got one answer I tested this myself. No-cache doesn't affect the spiders.
