Dear all,
I found on a respectable SEO website on wich the webmaster obmitted the opening and closing body tags. The pages are tructured like this: <html> <head>stuff</head> stuff </html> Is that a new SEO trick? I realy do not think this is an error with a name like they have (which bty I will not post here). Cheers |

Hmm.. I don't see the advantage to removing the body tags.
Most search engines are perfectly capable of correctly analyzing unvalid HTML code, so I think that the absence of the body tag does not positively affects rankings. Quote:
Most important web sites use horrible HTML code. |

I've always been told that search engines love neat code that's w3c compliant, but lately I've seen pages come ahead of me (especially in google, but that could be temporary) without body tags

From what I've observed this is not a global tendancy...yet! Some SE's prefer better coded sites more than others.
