Smile Newbie need some advice please..

Hi! im pretty new to SEO and this forum. The thing is this that a friends company have asked me to get their website higher rankings in the search-engine for one word. Its not a very common word and the competition for that word is not that big so i dont think its impossible.

But the thing is that they dont want me to change any of their pages and i dont have access to their webserver. So im thinking of starting a new domain and place the site their. Its kind of a doorway but it will be real content and information on the page targeting the keyword.

Do you think its possible for me to get that page high ranked? i know that its harder to rank a new domain high... And do anyone here have any tips on what i should think of to get the page ranked high?? i know that it would be best to change their real homesite but they dont let me..

Would be very thankful for any ideas

So they want you to increasetheir rankings, but they don't give you access to their webserver? the only thing that you can do is get inbound links with the keyword as the anchor text. But you wouldn't be able to rteciprocate. tell them that you can do pay per click for them if they want to increase their presence. do some keyword tracking with wordtracker and maybe offer them suggestions. But really why waste your time.

a new domain. yes anything is possible evn probable. I've gained top positioning for uncompetitive phrases in a matter of weeks. check out to see average searches for your phrase figure out what kind of sales you think would be made by having top positioning. keyword link the new domain anywhere you can from other domains. sub,it the site to engines and voila a few weeks to a couple of months you will start seeing results.
