Cool

Search the forum, as you've been doing. You'll find the basic information you need. For starting out, and if Google is the beast to master, page title and keyword density are two of the major starting blocks.

Back links are external links that come in to your site.

With more than 1,300 posts, DD is a foundation block of this forum, who helps others a great deal. She's great.

Regards,

Agalychnis

Cool

Oh yeh, edit your signature, and link it back to your website. SEO basic rule of thumb. ;)

backlinks don't have to go to the homepage. a backlink is any link anywhere on the internet that points to any page of your site. usually, they point to the homepage, but that is not essential, nor always even advisable. it depends upon where you want your pr built up the most. if most of the links point to the homepage, then that page's pr will be built up. then links from your homepage to your internal pages will transfer some pr to the internal pages. however, if for some reason, you'd rather have an internal page have the highest pr, you could have backlinks point to that page instead.

oh, and no, we don't have a newbie section here. so just read, search, and ask questions, and we'll all be happy to help.

LOL. I'm low on the totem pole. But if enough people want one, it might be considered.
