Need help analyzing competitor's site

This site: xxxhttp://66.70.70.83 for keyword phrase: “online appointment scheduling”

It is: #1 in Google (has been for years),
Not in the top 300 for Yahoo,
Not in the top 50 for MSN.

I am trying to figure out why it does so well in Google but “can’t be found” in Yahoo or MSN.

Here is what I know:
- The site has been around for years: 1988
- He has a couple thousand backlinks
- Pr6
- He uses a smart third party linking system with the linking site being: xxxhttp://66.70.70.81/ (same c-block)
- Since he uses a third party linking system he does not have a reciprocal links page.
- Since the “online appointment scheduling” linking business doesn’t have relevant sites to link with, he links to anyone.
- I have not checked all of his backlinks but a small sample of them show that he has 80% of his links have the anchor text “online appointment scheduling”
- As for on page factors he doesn’t use “online appointment scheduling” all that much - 1.71% and they are only located in the meta tags.

Is it possible that Yahoo and MSN are penalizing him for overusing the anchor text?

fryman there has to be a better way you can explain that live links arent allowed to new users. ;)

drumat I dont see all these 1000s of backlinks. Only a handful of backlinks. He ranks well because there isn't alot of competition for that term. Only about 270k results. A bunch of good backlinks with the terms as the anchor text will bump him right out of that spot. You dont need to reciprocate just got out and buy some links at linkadage.com

Google and Yahoo are completely different. In google he's just lucky because of no competition.
